Incident reporting

Incident reporting your carers will actually use

When something happens on a visit, the last thing a carer needs is a paper form back at the office. CarersDoc lets them report it from their phone in the moment, and gives managers a clear investigation trail from first report to closed.

Reported in the moment, from any phone

Carers raise an incident or accident from their own phone as soon as it happens, so the detail is fresh and nothing waits for a form back at the office.

A proper investigation workflow

Every report gets its own INC reference and moves through a clear workflow from reported to investigated to closed, with each step recorded.

CQC and RIDDOR categories, classified and tracked

Incidents are classified against CQC notifiable categories (Regulations 16 and 18) and RIDDOR, and CarersDoc tracks whether the notification has been made. You still notify CQC or the HSE yourself; CarersDoc helps you classify, track and evidence it.

Nothing outstanding slips

Photos and documents attach to the record encrypted, and an attention strip keeps every outstanding duty on open incidents in front of managers until it is done.

How it works

  1. 1

    Report

A carer or manager raises the incident on any device, attaching photos and documents securely.

  2. 2

    Investigate

Managers classify it, record findings and actions, and track any CQC or RIDDOR notification that is due.

  3. 3

    Close and evidence

The finished record, with its full trail, is ready to show an inspector whenever you need it.

Frequently asked questions

Does CarersDoc notify CQC or the HSE for me?+

No. Statutory notifications stay with you. CarersDoc helps you classify which incidents are CQC notifiable or RIDDOR reportable, tracks whether you have made the notification, and keeps the evidence behind it.

Can carers report from their own phones?+

Yes. Carers report through their normal CarersDoc sign-in in any browser, with no separate app to install.

What happens to photos of an incident?+

Attachments are stored encrypted inside the incident record, alongside the report and the investigation notes.

Will managers know when an incident needs attention?+

Yes. Open duties, such as investigations to progress or notifications to record, sit in an attention strip on the manager view until they are done.
